Save the dates below for opportunities to ENERGIZE yourself, your teaching, and our professional organization.  Meet with other string teachers to celebrate each other and our students!

March 13 – Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestras

Let’s meet up to hear great performances by our students and directed by  fellow OSTA members.  Concert Orchestra performance begins at 3:00 p.m. followed by the Philarmonic’s performance at 7:00 p.m.  Both concerts are in Greaves Hall at Northern Kentucky University.  Between performances, OSTA members will meet at City Barbeque (5:00 p.m.) for dinner (2760 Alexandria Pike, Highland Heights, 41076).

May 20 – Columbus Symphony Orchestra—Latin Fiesta

Join musicians and OSTA members at the Columbus Symphony’s Latin Fiesta program at the Southern Theatre.  The concert begins at 8:00 p.m. and features violinist Bella Hristova playing Piazolla’s The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.  Join musicians following the performance at Thurber Bar.   For ticket information or more details, please contact Julia White-Smith at White-Smith.1@osu.edu.

June 4 – OSTA String Teachers Workshop

Watch your e-mail for more details on this exciting morning of workshops.  Topics covered range from Alexander Technique to cello extensions.  It doesn’t get much more exciting than this!  The workshop will be hosted at Indian Hill Middle School from 8:30-12:30.  This is a great opportunity to reflect and think about ideas for the upcoming school year before diving into “summer mode.”

August 3 – Stanton’s Reading Sessions –   School Orchestra and Chamber Music/Solo Repertoire

These sessions are for all OSTA members, private studio teachers and orchestra directors!  The morning session, 10:00-12:00 p.m.,  will focus on new school orchestra music.  From 1:00-3:00, we’ll have a chance to play through new chamber music and solo repertoire.  OSTA will provide lunch from 12:00-1:00 p.m.  Come for one or both sessions!  Watch your e-mail for a link to sign-up in mid-summer so that we have enough music prepared (and food!).
